Renovation of the Grand Passage

Grand Passage

Tours

Renovation of the Grand Passage, a shopping center first inaugurated in 1952 in Tours, commissioned by GM Concept. Restoration performed using green and white stone-work tesserae. The Mosaic had suffered cracks and water damage.

Work undertaken: Cleansing, repair of ground cracks, repair of entry-ways at each end of the gallery.

Les étapes de restauration

south entrance, old restoration

Une restauration sommaire avait déjà été effectuée quelques années auparavant. Ce 1er mètre d'entrée va être cassé et remplacé par une mosaïque plus fidèle à l'original dans la découpe des cassons et le tracé du lettrage.

A rough restoration had already been done a few years before. This 1st meter of entrance will be broken and replaced by a mosaic more faithful to the original in the cutting of the cassons and the lettering plot.
